"Who could ever have guessed that simply touching another human being could be so important?"

Scientific research proves that massaging your own baby brings physical and psychological benefits to both parents and babies. Many Children's Centres and private venues offer baby massage courses, but although courses are open to both parents, for many reasons, its mainly mums that sign up..
Massaging your baby is an ancient art that connects you deeply with the person who is your baby, and helps you understand their non-verbal language. This is such an important part of parenting a young baby and is just as beneficial for dads as it is for mums. RosieHealth now runs individual IAIM baby massage classes for mums and dads in parents' own homes, as well as private group courses by request.
With individual classes, I can come to your home at a time to suit you and your baby. You will have my undivided attention and if your baby needs a break, we can pause and resume when he's ready. Some parents feel more comfortable learning how to massage their baby outside of a group situation, and may be more comfortable asking questions.
An individual baby massage course is 4 weeks long, dates and times arranged to suit. In a warm room in your house with a rug or blanket on the floor, the massage strokes are demonstrated with a doll, and either mum or dad massage the baby, taking it slowly and watching how he responds. The IAIM massage course draws from Indian and Swedish massage traditions as well as incorporating principles from yoga and reflexology.
Get a group of your mum/dad friends who would like to do a baby massage course and I will come to you and teach the group over 5 weeks. Just provide a warm room large enough for the group and I will provide the rest.
